The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports today that the Florida Family Policy Council, a Florida-based anti-gay, anti-abortion group, has begun ramping up its effort to get Christians to the polls for the upcoming presidential election, hoping a large Christian voter turnout could help flip Florida away from President Obama.

It must be interesting to hear them explain why any Christian would vote for the party that wants to kick poor people in the teeth some more.

Because… Abortion! And… Gay marriage! And Um… Jesus!

Letting pregnant people die from unsafe abortions and not allowing consenting adults to marry is exactly what Jesus would have wanted!!! All that stuff about feeding the hungry and clothing the poor was really more of a Biblical footnote.

In the immortal words of Christ himself, Matthew 25:34-36 : “Then the king will say to those at his right hand, “Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food took away my food stamps for my own good, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink gave bailouts and tax breaks to major corporations that wantonly poison our water supply, I was a stranger and you welcomed me called me ‘undocumented’ and sent me back to my poverty-stricken home country, I was naked and you gave me clothing said I was too lazy to work hard enough to afford clothing, I was sick and you took care of me eliminated universal healthcare and took away federal subsidies for people without health insurance, I was in prison and you visited me let me rot there as a victim of an inherently racist judiciary system.”
